DJ mini-mega-mix, tracks the use of motifs from Bach’s “Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor.” I was interested in how this piece of music which is over 300 years old continues to evoke such a powerful response that musicians of widely varying styles use it as a kind of shorthand, lending immediate dramatic heft to everything from rap music to movie scores.
